Optional Parameters in the URL as Initial View Location(Lat/Long) and Zoom

I would like to have the ability to add variables/parameters to the URL. For instance, the option to include the initial location view(latitude/longitude) and zoom level in the URL would be beneficial. This way, users could utilize a single map for various initial locations instead of creating multiple maps with different initial views. Something like the YouTube Embedded Players and Player Parameters.
