Customizable Directory Embed/Stand-alone Directory Product
The current directory embed is functionally limited, and much of the user friction we experience stems from the lack of customization options. Right now, the directory feels locked into the list/grid presentation style, which makes it difficult to adapt to different websites, audiences, or use cases. Simple customization toggles would substantially improve usability and adoption. Specifically: Ability to show/hide photos in list view Optional buttons or CTAs in list and grid views (Book Now, More Info, Get Directions) Toggles to show/hide specific data fields (address, category, description, links, etc.) Font color control since grid embed is transparent These controls would allow the directory to function as a true front-end experience rather than a static companion to the map. A second (and potentially complementary) option would be a standalone “Directory” product that uses the same single source of truth as maps but operates independently—similar to how Guides function, but without registration requirements. This would allow organizations to maintain one dataset while deploying the directory without being constrained by the map embed’s layout or behavior.
